The type of surface chosen should reflect the desired use for the pitch. For junior or school use a needlepunched surface may be the most cost effective. These carpets are manufactured from polypropylene fibre which is through bonded and has a scrim reinforcement for extra stability. If a more senior or club surface is required the better choice would be a woven surface.
These surfaces are traditionally more hard wearing as the backing gives strength both horizontally and vertically. The technique produces a fine dense product ideal for the most demanding matches.
